Do you know who Barbara Barrington Jones is???
If not go google her...RIGHT NOW so you can be inspired!
I like to think this lady changed MY life.
{I'm so sorry it is blurry}
This book is my confidence booster GO TO!
The stories and tips in there just fascinate me!
After you read this book you will realize
why it was such an HONOR for me to meet this woman!
I met her earlier this month when I helped out with Utah's Distingushed Young Women!!
Here are some QUOTES from her:
"Service make you lucky for what you have."
"Always have your "HALO" on (the kind hearted that goes out of her way to make a diffference) that's what people look for. If you spend your life wearing your halo a god guy can come find you."
"Notice people that never get noticed"
"The most BEAUTIFUL girl in the world is that one who is kind"
"Build others up and make them the winner and you will be the winner"
"There is no such thing as failure, only lessons!"
"Your EGO (Edging God Out) gets in the way when you worry about YOU, just let go and let God!"
Are you inspired by the Halo effect? Now next time you hear this song...you can remember that!
{She even played this song for us!}
And now for some posture tips from her:
"Pretend like there is a hook placed under your brest bone"
"Always have a smile on"
"When you look down at the ground, all confidence is lost"
Also have you heard of Brad Wilcox?
I got to hear from him too!
He is the author of THIS book!!
{The book is about acheiving all your dreams but spacing them out so you can}
He is.so INSPIRING!!
He says whenever you feel you can't do something SAY...
"I can't do that now...but I can learn"
He talked an AWFUL lot about lettuce and carrots...
Let me explain!
You walk into a store looking for lettuce. Your in the produce section and the carrots are right next to the lettuce but you don't want carrots right now you want lettuce. It doesn't matter what the carrots look like or where they came from or if they are organic or what. You have nothing against carrots...you like carrots but you are looking for lettuce!!
This is related to feeling left out or unwanted or for me personally {not being crowned}
But you see they wanted lettuce. That is what they came in looking for and that is what they shopped for and walked away with. And I just happened to be the carrot that day!
So he says the next time you feel alone or leftout go to the mirror and say I am a carrot...an awesome carrot that someone will want someday.
Don't you just LOVE that?
